Hanover (dpa / lni) – The doctors’ association Marburger Bund will increase the pressure on employers on Thursday with warning strikes in the municipal hospitals. Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, doctors have been under even greater pressure than before. “They rightly deserve appreciation for that,” said the first chairman of the Marburg Association in Lower Saxony, Martin Wollenberg. In Lower Saxony, around 40 hospitals are affected by the collective bargaining. There are also warning strikes at banks and insurance companies on Thursday.
Among other things, the Marburger Bund calls for a linear increase in the maximum limit by 5.5 percent for a period of one year, clear limits for on-call services and a general limitation of on-call service to a maximum of twelve on-call services per month. In addition, there should be a secure right to free weekends and more planning security for the services.
The Verdi trade union called on fans of the private and public banks in Lower Saxony and Bremen as well as the office workers of the private insurance industry to go on an all-day warning strike on Thursday. Both sectors are facing further collective bargaining rounds on Thursday and Friday.
