Two good news for Airbus ! In recent days, the European aircraft manufacturer has won two new orders for A320 and A321XLR. These were passed by the companies Volotea and Air Canada.
Six A320s for Volotea
It was first of all Volotea which formalized its order for six new Airbus A320s on Wednesday March 16, 2022. For the low-cost Spanish company, these aircraft should allow it “to improve its cost structure within two or three following years and to obtain an increase in supply”.
As a reminder, just over a year ago, Volotea announced that it broadcast to a fleet made up of 100% Airbus aircraft.
“We are continuing to develop our strategy by becoming ever more dependent on European regional capitals with the Airbus A320, which is a more modern and more competitive aircraft with operating costs 20 to 25% lower than the Boeing 717”, indicated to the era Carlos Munozfounder and CEO of the Iberian company.
Air Canada buys new Airbus plane
The following week, it was the turn of the Canadian national company, Air Canada, to announce an order with Airbus for six A321XLR aircraft, the brand new model designed by the European aircraft manufacturer.
“The new Airbus A321XLR is an ideal aircraft to replace older, less fuel-efficient aircraft. The next-generation single-aisle aircraft will allow Air Canada to establish new destinations in the most sustainable way possible.”
“By the end of February 2022, the A320neo Family had accumulated nearly 7,900 orders from more than 120 customers worldwide. A321XLR orders totaled 515 from 25 customers,” Airbus revealed.
