the “Women of Food” of Toulouse rewarded
Women were in the spotlight this Sunday, March 20 at the METT, where the presentation of the Women of Food Prize 2022 one took place. The competition aims to spotlight women entrepreneurs of the metropolis of Toulouse working in the food sector, where inequalities persist. Several awards were tracked.
In the very male sector of the culinary world, finding your place as a woman is not easy. With this competition, we wanted to pay tribute to all those who are entrepreneurs in the food sector and encourage those who are still hesitant to get started”, explains Sophie Franco, co-founder of La Food Locale, an agency that supports companies in the food sector, on the initiative of the Women of Food prize.

A delivery service for traced local products
The Women of Food Grand Prize was thus awarded to Mary Franco, founder of the online grocery store “Le Comptoir d’Anselme”. She created a service delivery of traced local products by the mileage index, at home or in business.
New for 2022, the Graine de Food prize, which rewards project leaders, has been awarded to Clotilde Latieule, co-founder of the “Maraîchers du ciel”. This is a start-up offering vegetable gardens adapted to the roofs of hypermarkets and shopping centers.
A jury of 10 food experts
Esther Lawrence has, meanwhile, received the People’s Choice award for her breeding “Envies de brebis”, where she produces organic farmhouse cheeses and yogurts. A reward that was awarded according to the votes of Internet users. At last, Blandine Vilaco-founder of catering service “Curcumamas”, specially designed for young mothers, was awarded a Jury’s Favorite.
The Grand Prize and the Graine de Food Prize were designated by a jury composed of 10 expert personalities food. Maguelone Pontier, general manager of the Market of National Interest (MIN) in Toulouse, and Guillaume Gomez, former chef of the kitchens of the Élysée, were godmother and sponsor of the competition.
