The Crystal Wing has chosen the top personalities of Slovakia. We know the laureates of 2021

Today took place the 25th year of the Crystal Wing awards for important personalities of Slovakia. The gala evening took place at the Slovak National Theater, Sale Opera and Ballet. Viewers can watch the awards live via RTVS.

The award is given annually to personalities in Slovakia who have achieved extraordinary success in various sectors of social, cultural, economic and public life.

25th annual awards ceremony

During tonight, we learned the names of the award-winning Crystal Wing Laureates for 2021 in divergent answers. In addition, an extraordinary award was presented to Štefan Svitek. The main idea of ​​the event is to discover and highlight unique people and their professional performances that deserve admiration and respect.

The Crystal Wing recognizes important personalities of Slovakia in the field of science, medicine, culture, economy, philanthropy and sports. The expert jury, in cooperation with the general public, brought more than 140 nominations to this year. In the end, 26 people made it to the final selection.

During today’s gala evening, we learned the names of the laureates of the Crystal Wing in 2021. The Crystal Wing has been appreciating exceptional Slovaks since 1997.

It is currently valued as separating economics, philanthropy, journalism and literature, theater and audiovisual, fine arts, music, sports, medicine and science, innovation and startups.

In the history of philanthropy, Mgr. Adriana Havašová. He accepts the award with humility and commitment. “I do not see it only as an appreciation of my work, but of the entire Hope Center. Only a well-functioning team can provide comprehensive help to people who need it. I thank the whole team and I am extremely happy to be a part of it, “ upon receiving the first award he speaks the dinner.

In the past, the economy of today’s gala evening was appreciated by Ing. Milan and Ing. Tatiana Kovalančíkovcov. “It simply came to our notice then. I want to thank my husband and family who are constantly pushing us forward and all those around us. ” she said modestly as she took over Tatiana.

Erik Vlček became the winner in the sports category. Since Vlček is currently training in America, his award was accepted by hockey player Richard Lintner. “On behalf of Erik, I thank all the nominees, both Alene and Rory. I think they were a great nominated trio, “ he added.

In history, theater and audiovisual art won the Mgr. Slava Daubnerova, ArtD. The moderator announced the award by phone before the publication, because she has traveled to Germany. “She was very moved and she is very sorry that we cannot be with us today,” said the moderator.

The fine arts also have their own. The award was won by Mgr. art. Patrik Illo. “Thank you and I hope that the glass industry will survive in these difficult times and that I will prosper as before.” Patrik Illo is an internationally renowned glass designer and head of the Glass studio at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. His works can be found in many galleries in Europe and the USA.

In the music category, the jury had more than 20 nominations on the table. She appreciated the unique art and return to Slovak roots. Peter Bič Project became the winner of the Crystal Wing. “We are very happy to be a part of this evening, especially at a time when it is no longer a matter of course.” singer Viki Vargová. “Music is the only language in the world that can’t be said wrong.” she quoted.

Together with Peter, they thanked the bands and at the same time expressed their support for the people of Ukraine.

“I’m very grateful to our band, the fans who support us and still stand by us. However, it is very difficult to enjoy this price when we know that people around us are suffering. And that’s why I want peace. The situation affects everyone and I believe it will end quickly. I want social networks to come to life with love, not swearing. We are one nation, one Slovakia, so this award belongs to everyone, “ said the band’s founder Peter.

In the category of journalism and literature, the nominations reflect an original approach to writing, extraordinary tenacity and orientation in history. The award was won by prof. PhDr. Stanislav Rakús, DrSc. His niece came to take him over. “On behalf of Stanislav, I thank the jurors for the award of his book and I congratulate him warmly.”

Matej Ftáčnik, who is a remarkable figure in Slovakia, won for innovation and startup. Co-founder and since 2021 also CEO of the Slovak software company Vacuumlabs, operating in the field of fintech, and EY Technology Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 in Slovakia.

“I want to thank my colleagues and family in particular. I would like to end with a request for Slovakia. To be able to do more innovative things, we need to keep an open mind and not be afraid. ” For more than a decade, Matej has provided Vacuumlabs with fintech solutions for startups, scaleups and multinational corporations from Tokyo to San Francisco.

Doctors and scientists deserve our special attention, not just during a pandemic. Although she has just made it a reality, as society needs them. The award for medicine and science was taken over by prof. MUDr. Peter Simko, CSc. The jury selected experts from the fields of surgery, general medicine and clinical immunology and pediatrics.

“I think that the nomination itself was a strong signal that the work of doctors should be appreciated. During the pandemic, white medicine moved to the background. However, it is responsible for the quality of our lives. Surgery is specifically characterized by teamwork. The Principles of Surgery book series has more than 100 co-authors, so I would like to thank the entire team. I believe that the series, which has a range of more than 6,000 pages, will educate many future and current surgeons, ” said Professor Šimko when accepting the award.

Varied program of the gala evening

The winners were awarded a wing made of crystal. The founder and producer of the Crystal Wing, Mária Vaškovičová, says that it is a small symbol designed to show gratitude and homage for above-average performances, groundbreaking thoughts and ideas that move us forward. According to her, the laureates try to improve the quality of the individual and society every day.

Adam Ďurica, Emma Drobná, Terézia Kružliaková, Adriana Kučerová, Rebeka Jenisová, Adam Pavlovčin, Michal Noga, Monika Bagárová and Radovan Tariška performed during the gala evening. The atmosphere was provided by the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Adrian Kokoš.

The jubilee year was accompanied by up to ten moderators in an unconventional way. Viewers could look forward to names such as Ivo Goál, Janette Štefánková, Michaela Čobejová, Adriana Kučerová, Marianna Ďurianová, Karin Haydu, Anna Žitná Lučaiová, Danka Barteková, Lucia Hurajová and Karin Majtánová.

This year, after the decision of the Grand Jury, Štefan Svitek received the special award. This award is given to a person for a lifetime achievement, extraordinary achievement abroad or other significant achievement in the year under review. Štefan Svitek in January at the Dakar Rally 2021 excellent sports performances, but also an extraordinary human dimension of competition and sporting spirit. He stopped during the race to help the injured opponent.
