Thanks to an offensive demonstration, Rouen concluded their series against Gap at the end of match 6. Hooked by Amiens, Cergy-Pontoise won by the smallest of margins and also reached the semi-finals of the Magnus League.
Rouen will be there for the Magnus League semi-finals. On the occasion of Match 6 against Gap, the Dragons offered their fans an attacking recital. It only took ten minutes for Rolands Vignerons to open the score. Loïc Lamperier made the break at the start of the second period before seeing Andrew Johnston add to the score six minutes later. Marc-André Dorion joined the party just over two minutes after the third but. At the start of the last quarter of an hour, Quentin Tomasino prolonged the Raptors’ disarray a little longer before Loïc Lamperier sent Julian Junca to get the puck a sixth time in the cage before giving way to Jimmy Darier. With this victory (6-0), Rouen closes the series and finds Angers in the semi-finals.
Cergy-Pontoise puts an end to the suspense
The other poster of the last four will see Grenoble do battle with Cergy-Pontoise. The Jokers also took advantage of the home field advantage to seal the series’ fate at the end of Match 6, but not without difficulties. At the very end of the first period, Tuukka Rajamaki gave the Ile-de-France region the advantage but, five minutes after the restart, Jesper Öhrvall took advantage of a numerical superiority to bring back the Gothics. It was half an hour into the game that the Jokers regained control of Brien Robert Diffey before widening the gap at the start of the third period. In the space of three minutes, Pierre-Charles Hordelalay went there with his double to give the Jokers a three-point lead. On the Amiens side, we put all our forces into the battle and, in 31 seconds, Antonin Plagnat then Dan Gibb brought the Gothics back to one length. At the end of the match, Henry-Corentin Buysse left his cage but this numerical superiority had no effect. Cergy-Pontoise wins by a narrow margin (4-3) but will be well in the semi-finals.
