San Marino, Ukrainian refugees update: reception, projects and aid
In San Marino, the Co Unit set up at the Foreign Affairs Department informs that today there are over 250 Ukrainian citizens fleeing the armed conflict, largely represented by women and children. In order to guarantee them adequate reception and appropriate access to essential services, the Great and General Council ratified, in yesterday’s session, the Law Decree n. 27 of 4 March 2022 which provides, among other things, a maximum limit of admissions, to the extent of 300 units, which can be increased up to a maximum of 5% on a monthly basis, starting next April 15. The provision is the result of constant monitoring of requests for hospitality in the Republic and strongly supported to allow Ukrainian citizens, in possession of a temporary residence permit, to be able to obtain services, assistance and guarantees aimed at a progressive and sustainable integration into the territory.
The Coordination Unit, in concert with the Civil Protection, the Secretariats of State and the public and private bodies involved, provokes the imminent activation of projects and initiatives aimed at the diversified needs of Ukrainian citizens in terms of monitoring in housing, public and private, of progressive school and social integration. Based on the combined provisions of Decree no. 27 of 4 March 2022 and of the Agenda of the Great and General Council of 1 March 2022, permits will be given priority in cases of family reunification and only upon availability of accommodation. This entry procedure will be detailed by specific Regulations of the State Congress currently being adopted.
In this regard, the following procedure is specified, necessary to allow reception in the Republic:
1) report to the email [email protected], before entering the territory, the personal data of the people who will arrive, with a copy of the passport attached. It is also announced that, starting from next week, the Department will make use of the collaboration of Ukrainian interpreters on Mondays (8.30-10.00) and Thursdays (16.00-18.00) who will provide the requested information by telephone. We also remind you that the number dedicated to the emergency is 0549-885400.
2) within 48 hours of entry, it is necessary to undergo screening at the State Hospital, in the premises of the former nursing home, by booking the visit at 0549-994905
3) Following the visit, the Foreigners Office will issue the provisional residence permit, contacting the Ukrainian citizens to arrange the appointment
Together with the provisional residence permit, each person in charge of the family unit will also be issued with a SMAC Card, which will be charged a monthly contribution, calculated on the basis of the members of the family unit.

The Coordination Unit that there is a current account, activated last March 8 and in the name of the Civil Protection, which aims to include the activities necessary to allow a sustainable stay in the Republic.
