TEST RIDERS WANTEDWhat is it like to live with a Lynk&Co? That question will be answered by our car editors in the coming correspondence, with the help of drivers in the Netherlands. Every Dutch person with a valid car driver’s license can borrow this Lynk&Co 01 from us, in exchange for an unvarnished opinion.
The car editors will process the experiences of readers of this site who have the car on loan in stories and videos that will be published later this year. Car editor Roland Tameling will manage the blue Lynk&Co in the coming months and ensure that the car goes to as many different ‘guest testers’ as possible. The intention is to form a very extensive and well-considered practical assessment of Lynk&Co, the 01 and the underlying concept of the new manufacturer.
The Swedish/Chinese Lynk&Co, a sister brand of Volvo, does not offer the car in a traditional way. minimum, you can buy an 01 for 39,000 euros, but Lynk&Co prefers that customers take out a subscription with them renting the SUV for a fixed amount per month. Then you pay 500 euros every month and you can travel 1250 kilometers (ie 15,000 per year) during that period without surcharge. The insurance, maintenance and any breakdown assistance are already included in that amount, in connection with the fuel costs in the past.
In addition, Lynk&Co’s offer is more flexible than other cars that offer a fee. If you wish, you can cancel your subscription to the 01 every month. With other providers such as Volvo and Lexus, a long notice period applies, your lease contracts are even attached to your car. Those refined guidelines are quite good in the Netherlands; Currently, more than four thousand copies of the plug-in hybrid SUV have found a user, says Tim Bleeker of the national Lynk&Co distribution point in Diemen.
Sharing is the goal
In addition to the subscription form, Lynk&Co has developed various ways to share the car with other people as much as possible. Via a smartphone app and the system in the car it should be easier than average to lend the 01 to friends, acquaintances, family, neighbors and even to people you do not (yet) know personally. Such a facility hardly exists with any other car manufacturer, at least not on a large scale. That calls for an extensive practical test in the form of ‘Living with a Lynk&Co’.
Participating is very simple: you can scan the QR code on the doors of the tailgate when you meet the car, but you can also send an email. Send it to [email protected] and state at least the following information there: your name, full address, telephone number and what you would like to do with the car. Of course, the parties involved are very careful with this personal information: you are only separated series to borrow the car, and after the execution of this not transferred or shared with other parties.
We agree with each other when and for how long you borrow the car. Although the goal is to get as many people as possible to ride. To make it as relevant and interesting as possible, the editors are free to select participants or not. These people automatically receive a personal message.
A small return
Participation in this series is also free: you only have to pay for the fuel yourself, in addition to unexpected fines and (parking) fines of course. For anyone who is going to take an extended test drive with the Lynk&Co, the auto-steering action asks for a small quid pro quo: for every day you own the 01, send us two photos and one short video in which you start and share experiences.
Don’t think too hard: you can just take the photos and videos with your phone, as long as we can see who is testing the car and what is good, striking or less strong about it. We are concerned with the real beginnings of consumers, and of course the editors are ready to help when the desired date is. The collected images are processed in productions for the newspaper and the website, which will ultimately provide good and extensive answers to the question of what it is like to live with a Lynk&Co.
This is how you participate in ‘Living With a Lynk&Co’:
Send an email to [email protected] and include at least the following information: your name, full address, telephone number and what you would like to do with the Lynk&Co 01. When you are meant to participate, you will automatically receive a message (and a detailed explanation) from the car editors.
