The Roma Lido is suspended, the commuters released the Ostiense
Roma Lido is suspended and enraged commuters have occupied Via Ostiense. From 11.50 today, Thursday 17 March, the service is interrupted in both directions due to technical failure. The problem, according to what was reconstructed by RomaToday, would be attributable to the electrical substations, which in fact power the trains.
There are seven on the Roma Lido which, therefore, is not powered. A problem, says Atac, caused by an external company. The technicians are working to restore the service. The commuters thus had to leave the stations and reach the shelters for the activated shuttle buses, which will cover the Eur Magliana-Cristoforo Colombo route, in both directions.
Missing and late shuttles, however, which sparked the protest of the commuters who, from 1pm, decided to occupy the Via Ostiense with pieces of trunks, cut from the trees that line the road by the service staff in the gardens in recent days. The commuter committee, which had previously released images of how a group of users was made to get off at Vitinia and made to walk on the Ostiense, gave news of the protest. The route, at 2.30 pm, was reactivated and the protest ended.
