The first lockdown began two years ago
Coronavirus
Exactly two years ago today, the then federal government imposed the first coronavirus lockdown. And it shouldn’t be the only one. The distance rule, the obligation to wear masks, the CoV tests and finally the obligation to vaccinate have left deep cuts in society, scientists agree.

The coronavirus pandemic revealed both positive and negative interpersonal tendencies in society, says behavioral psychologist Lukas Thürmer from the University of Salzburg.
Three aspects in the pandemic
Looking back, the behavioral scientist recognizes three major aspects of the pandemic. “Firstly, at the beginning of the pandemic I was positively surprised at how much and how quickly we managed together, how much we were able to change our behavior,” says Lukas Thürmer. As a result, however, it was difficult to maintain this behavior. “Then we got into more of a ‘back and forth’.”
Then the behavioral researcher noticed that there are also centrifugal forces: “That the decisions that we make individually influence how we treat and debate with each other.”
