Slovakia has so far received hundreds of animals from Ukraine
The animal hotpot mainly provides chipping, basic and material assistance, such as leads, crates, food for animals. “Most animals that go through the hotspot are healthy, vaccinated and the owners continue on their way.” declares the ministry.
He added that stray animals that cross the border are captured and examined on the spot. Subsequently, in cooperation with the State Veterinary and Food Administration, it was placed in state quarantine sites or shelters.
At present, there are two to four volunteers at the Vyšné Nemecké border crossing every day. “Since the volunteer registration we launched on February 27, more than 550 volunteers have applied to help us directly at the large centers.” said State Secretary of the Ministry of the Environment Juraj Smatana. The volunteers continue to be coordinated by the Ministry’s Green Line.
The Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic has launched an online accommodation reservation system. There are also accommodation options with pets. The resort also provided accommodation for almost 300 refugees.
