Volotea announces the Rome – Strasbourg service
Volotea is preparing to include a new international connection from Rome Fiumicino. She announced that from May 28, it will be possible to fly to Strasbourg from the Eternal City. The new line, operated exclusively by Volotea, will have two flights per week (every Monday and Friday) and more than 20,000 seats will be available. This new connection to France brings the airline’s number of destinations from Rome to five in total.
The launch of the route further reduces the distance between Rome and France – the carrier already operates a route to Nantes from the Italian capital. Traveling with Volotea, passengers from Lazio can easily travel to the North East of France, booking a short break to discover Strasbourg, with its network of canals, half-timbered houses and vibrant cultural atmosphere. The flight also offers French citizens from North-East France the opportunity to organize a break in the Eternal City and get lost in its rich history, visiting churches, museums and ancient monuments. Rome’s irresistible culinary experience, with its wide range of wines and gastronomic delights, will also appeal to visitors.
The announcement of the new Rome Fiumicino-Strasbourg flight reaffirms the airline’s commitment to offering an ever wider range of destinations to Italian passengers. Since the launch of its activities at Rome airport just a few months ago, Volotea has launched an offer encompassing five destinations. In addition to Strasbourg, passengers can also fly with the airline to Nantes, Cagliari, Alghero and Olbia. Since October 2021, the airline has transported more than 200,000 passengers on more than 1,580 flights from Rome Fiumicino, with a full offer of more than 280,000 seats.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of a new exclusive international route from Rome Fiumicino. The new connection to and from Strasbourg will start from May 28 and will strengthen the Rome-France axis,” commented Valeria Rebasti, Country Manager Italy & Southeastern Europe for Volotea. Roman passengers will have plenty of comfortable options for exploring Alsace, an evocative region that we are sure will appeal to a wide range of tourists. Finally, thanks to this new route, we will increase the traffic of foreign tourists who wish to visit the wonders of Italy. We hope our flights will help strengthen the tourism sector, which is a key economic driver for our country,” she continued.
