Orange dust from the Sahara has arrived in Portugal. Phenomenon will continue until Thursday
The intensification and approach of Storm Celia was reported for this episode. Effect will be visible in almost the entire country
The dust from the Sahara desert that painted the Spanish sky orange has also reached Portugal, more specifically, the city of Bragança. CNN Portugal had access to several images of the contents of garbage and cars covered in a kind of orange dust.
In an interview with TVI/CNN Portugal, Bruno Café, from the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), explained that the entire national territory can be affected, in particular the North and Central interior, by this dust from North Africa.
“It originates in North Africa and has to do with the intensification and approach of the Célia storm that ended up raising dust into the atmosphere that now ends up reaching mainland Portugal, in particular the North interior and the interior”.
The meteor also said that “this episode will last until the 17th”, because the Célia day depression “maintains the eastern quadrant over mainland Portugal” and there is “an intensification of the anticyclone further north”.
In particular, MA also adds “the most visible effects of the IP, which are the particularity of the position of the sky above the surface, although they are considered its position above the surface, which can be considered lower with the configurations of the sky and the impacts visible in quality. health. Dust deposition is also possible”. This means, people with problem examples can be more deliberate.
Asked if it will be visible in all the orange as if it were in Portugal and in the sky, Bruno Café would be visible in the North Center that the South region could be more protected.
