Slovakia continued to help the refugees: In another city, a large-capacity center began to operate
A multifunctional large-capacity center to help refugees started in Michalovce on Monday evening. Thus, only the necessary infrastructure will remain at the Vyšné Nemecké border crossing. A similar model is to be used at the Veľké Slemence or Ubľa border crossings.
TASR informed the press department of the Office of the Minister of the Interior.
“The basic priority is to concentrate assistance to incoming refugees in multifunctional large-capacity centers, where all needs and services will be provided in one place.” said the resort. At the Vyšné Nemecké border crossing, only the necessary infrastructure will remain, ie medical and psychological assistance, sanitary facilities, an information stand for accommodation options, veterinary care and refreshments. it should still be available in the large-capacity center, and a regular shuttle service should be provided, the resort said.
As far as possible, the refugees will have to apply for temporary refuge at the workplaces in the center of Michalov, as well as in other places in Slovakia. Support services were set up by the state in the vicinity of the center in tents. “It will provide assistance from its own forces, but will also provide the necessary additional assistance to volunteers, including medical support and psychological care, provide transport to places of accommodation, meals and, if necessary, temporary emergency accommodation.” added by the resort. There will be sanitary facilities, heated leisure and dining tents as well as information kiosks.
“The division of tasks and coordination will be the responsibility of a management team composed of representatives of the components of the integrated rescue system, district offices and representatives of volunteer organizations,” the ministry said.
This model should gradually reach the border crossings of Veľké Slemence and Ubľa. A similar center as in Michalovce is planned to be gradually established in Humenné and other cities, the ministry announced.
