Rugby League – Toulouse – Carcassonne: the Audois must not waste
Against a Toulouse team which will assess without pressure, Carcassonne, which paid a heavy price for its derby won against Lézignan (31-18), must confirm its return to form (3 p.m.).
After two consecutive defeats conceded in Limoux then in Albi, the Carcassonnais returned to victory, a fortnight ago, thanks to the second round of the derby which opposed them to their neighbors Lézignan in the enclosure of Domec (31-18). If this success was welcomed with the satisfaction that we can guess, the locals nevertheless paid a heavy price since, in this match, they definitively lost Matthieu Khedimi who, victim of a rupture of the outside ligament of the knee, unfortunately ended his season.
For their return to competition, after a much appreciated salutary weekend of rest, Alexis Escamilla and his brothers travel today (3 p.m.) to Toulouse to face an opponent who, if he does not play the leading roles within the national elite, however, has a young workforce capable of “disturbing” the big boys of the competition, as they recently proved at the ogre of Corbières, where they are only tilted by a short head (22-16) after having caused a few scares in the stands of the Moulin.
A competitive team
For this trip to the pink city, Fred Camel and Alan Walsh line up a most competitive formation, in which the young Thibaut Marty takes place in the center of the offensive division. Brock Pelligra returns to his position at the hinge, associated with Clément Herrero. Djibryl Dauliac has donned the number 13 jersey, while Ludovic Artiga is tenured on the heels.
The “yellow and black” are warned: if they do not put the necessary ingredients to make things easy, they have everything to fear from the young Toulouse wave which has absolutely nothing to lose in the matter and is transmitted without any pressure, except that of having fun and offering his best face to his supporters.
