Inter Milan set conditions for Romelu Lukaku’s return
Definitely, Romelu Lukaku and his exes are complicated stories that never really end. Back home, at Chelsea, last summer after having exploded in the jersey of Inter Milan, the 28-year-old striker endowed with the ability to (finally) conquer English football under the colors of the reigning European champion . Everything had started very well for the native of Antwerp, but quickly, the situation deteriorated. Already sportingly, where Big Rom only seemed to be a shadow of himself. Especially since to make matters worse, he suffered from an injury and from Covid-19.
Add to that an improvised media outing at the end of December, in which the Belgian was part of his dissatisfaction and frustration under the orders of Thomas Tuchel, and you have a more than burning rag between the two parties. The situation is calm, things are back to normal internally, but on the field, the reality remains difficult. Confined to the role of substitute, Lukaku has not scored in the Premier League since December 29. Enough to revive the rumors of departure, especially since the catastrophic situation of the Blues linked to Roman Abramovich and the war in Ukraine could well push several stars towards the exit.
Inter have a definite plan for Lukaku
The Gazzetta dello Sport ensures in the sense that Inter Milan is following the situation of Romelu Lukaku very closely on the London side. The will of the Italian clan to attract the Belgian international back into their net (101 caps, 68 goals) does exist. The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, have set three conditions to make this comeback possible. Above all, Roman Abramovich must seal the sale of the Blues. The reason ? The presence of the intransigent Marina Granovskaia would complicate the task of the Milanese. The Chelsea manager would probably never accept a discount sale of a man bought for €113m last summer.
Another condition set by the Lombard club: to carry out this operation in the form of a loan. The finances of the owner Zhang will not allow a huge investment on the transfer market, and even less for a player who will celebrate his 29th birthday on May 13, specifies the pink paper newspaper. Finally, the third and final condition concerns Lukaku, who should agree to lower his salary (currently €12.5 million annually) to return to Giuseppe Meazza’s side. One thing that would not slow down the Belgian striker. The planets thus seem to be aligning little by little for what would offer Inter supporters the recomposition of the formidable duo Lautaro Martinez-Romelu Lukaku.
