Another medal at the Paralympic Games in Beijing for Slovakia
Alexandra Rex won a bronze medal in slalom.
The Slovak national team member in skiing Alexandra Rexová and her guide Eva Trajčíková won a bronze medal in Saturday’s slalom for visually impaired women at the Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. For the Slovak team, it is the fifth precious metal from the ongoing games (3-0-2).
Sixteen-year-old Rex won her second medal in Beijing, having previously won a super-G gold. She maintained her position in the slalom after the first round, with a shortage of 4.78 seconds in the finish of both laps for the winning Austrian Veronika Aignerová. Silver belongs to another Austrian representative, Barbara Aigner. Slovak Henrieta Farkašová and her guide Martinon Motyk took 5th place with a loss of 5.47 seconds.
The debutante Vanesa Gašková finished 9th in the slalom competitions, Petra Smaržová did not finish the race.
