The orange bench for women has an exceptional godmother: Amanda Sandrelli
An exceptional godmother for the bench inaugurated yesterday afternoon in the park named after the “Women victims of violence” in Sant’Andrea in Besanigo. In fact, alongside the mayor Domenica Spinelli, the councilor for Equal Opportunities Giulia Santoni and the entire Corianese city council was the actress Amanda Sandrelli who in the evening was the protagonist of the show “Lucrezia forever!” staged at the CorTe Theater. A ceremony that saw the participation of citizens, many women and that completed the series of initiatives that the Municipality of Coriano has organized in recent days. Sandrelli, greeted by those present, very cordial and always very close to issues related to women, greeted and thanked for the opportunity that she was offered to attend such an important event. “The sensitivity and commitment of women are not discussed – she said – and stemming the phenomena that see innocent victims is an obligation for everyone.
I am the mother of two sons who have never seen a man disrespect women and this is the example I have given them “. Before her, the commissioner Giulia Santoni had taken the floor, who was the real organizer of all these initiatives, taking care of every aspect in the smallest details. Also present for the occasion was Angelo Bertoglio of the Association of United Victims of Italy, who added some women who have been assisted for some time and who in that park of Sant’Andrea dates were president last November by participating in the event of the ‘title. “Coriano was the first town in Italy to name a space for women victims of violence – said Bertoglio – and we are still here today together with the mayor, the council and Amanda to reiterate how strong and decisive is the commitment of all us towards this theme. We must thank those who have chosen to give strength to the support and solidarity towards all those who dramatically affect their condition as a woman ”.
The conclusion to the mayor Domenica Spinelli: “We chose the orange color of this bench – she explained thanking and declaring herself honored on behalf of all citizens for Sandrelli’s availability and collaboration – because for us it is the color of hope. For 10 years we have invested in the “Yes to the culture of respect” and we will continue on this line 365 days a year. Women need support, attention and assistance. Always and not only these days. Especially those who are alone, who suffer, who suffer violence and oppression in silence. My thoughts and those who are here at this moment go to Ukrainian women and to the entire population affected by the war ”.
