Prague on the current situation in the refugee center in Vyšehrad
“The Prague Congress Center is now a key place for people fleeing the war in Ukraine, as it offers them a package of comprehensive services for a legal stay in the Czech Republic. It serves approximately 3,500 applicants a day, thanks to the maximum commitment of the components of the integrated rescue system, officials and all volunteers, “said Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřib.
It should remain in operation until a more suitable alternative is found. The center is open 24 hours a day and helps Ukrainians with registration with the Aliens Police, processing visas, health insurance and finding accommodation.

According to Hřiba, however, the city has already exhausted its accommodation capacity. Those who come to the assistance center with a request for accommodation must take the buses of the fire brigade to other regions that still have free facilities for refugees.
Prague has prepared an instructional video in Ukrainian for refugees from Ukraine.

So far, over 100 people fleeing Ukraine have headed to the Czech Republic. According to the Austrian, the regions are able to provide basic comfort, including accommodation capacity, for approximately 250,000 people.
“From now on, because we suspect that the wave will be bigger, we must prepare for the government and other measures,” the Austrian said earlier. According to him, the measures concern, for example, the construction of human camps.
