Portugal European support for 12 reform projects
Between the Approved projects in national territory, the digitization of services, the introduction of new technologies and improvements in public administration. This year, initiatives will start in the field of artificial intelligence (AI better regularization in the EU (AI4AI@EU), the development of resilient, innovative and human-centered digital government services, the use of AI in audits of community funds and the improvement of control and management systems for the management of microdata for productivity, and the strengthening of cooperation and quality of public administration in regional and local authorities.
Also in these areas, actions were also approved for the second phase, the development of a public strategic plan for digitalization, and a sustainable blue economy for the maritime and fisheries sectors, as well as for and for the sustainability of the marine environment, and to support of the tourism ecosystem, by strengthening the sector’s sustainability, resilience and digitization.
In addition to the projects, yesterday the IAT work program for the year was also announced, which includes some novelties: plurinational or innovative projects, and emblematic projects (for example, to renewal wave, aimed at destructive). According to a note from the European Commission, “half of the requests related to emblematic projects, such as tourism, the vacancy are for illustrations. [Renovation Wave]gender mainstreaming, public administration and migrant integration, while 30% of projects are plurinational or multiregional”.
The IAT is part of the Multiannual Financial Framework 20027 and makes the 202027 reform plan and makes the reform project that you articulate with the main parts of the Commission, namely the digital transitions and projects and the improvement of the ecological operational capacity and the execution of the two initiatives Europeans. The mechanism does not work through master funding, but through the provision of expertise to Member States, who are then responsible for implementing reforms. With no need for national co-funding, the success of reform support depends on the commitment and approval of Member State authorities, the same source. In 2021, Portugal received the support of the IAT in 16 projects, one of them the elaboration of the National Smart Cities Strategywhich is due for public consultation at the beginning of April.
