Toulouse: a man arrested with six bank cards, three wallets and other “suspicious” objects
A man was checked on Wednesday in Toulouse, La Reynerie district. He had bank cards, phones, wallets… Nothing in his name.
A 40-year-old man, who claims to be homeless, has been explaining himself since Tuesday morning to investigators from the Left Bank judicial support group, in Toulouse. Police officers from the departmental intervention company spotted him on Tuesday mid-morning while he was walking in the La Reyneire district, André-Messager road. What surprised the peacekeepers was the reaction of this man who, when he saw the police vehicle, tried to hide a bag he was carrying.
This behavior led to an audit and the discovery of disturbing elements. In addition to six bank cards, all with different names and at least one of which had been stolen during a burglary in February, the search revealed two mobile phones, a Tisséo card, three wallets, a of identity not in the name of suspect…
The man was taken into custody, a measure extended by the prosecution on Tuesday morning. Thief or receiver? Investigations are still underway to try to determine this.
