Toulouse: a magnetizer taken hostage by fake police
A man was visited by police on Tuesday at the end of the day in Toulouse. These men, fake policemen but real thieves, have taken this magnetizer hostage. He was released after a trip to his home in Comminges. His car, a Porsche, was found burned near Toulouse.
The visit, police armband clearly visible, was intended to be reassuring. What followed looked like extortion with forcible confinement and very bad memories by the victim, a 57-year-old man. Three individuals landed Tuesday at the end of the day at this magnetizer who exercises his talents in Toulouse but also in other “cabinets”. The visitors, who played the fake police to deceive the vigilance of this practitioner, began by recovering the money for the day’s visits. A few hundred euros which did not satisfy, a priori, their appetite.
The trio then handcuffed and dropped off the victim to take the direction with his car, a Porsche, from his home located in the south of Haute-Garonne. Only once at the entrance of the property, the door remained closed. The thugs were quick to spot the cameras fixed near the entrance and preferred to make a quick U-turn to disappear.
Porsche found burnt
The hostage’s wife, who indeed followed everything by video interposed, alerted the gendarmes. Despite the surveillance set up between Comminges and Toulouse, the car and its occupants were not found. The hostage was released on the road, shocked but in good health. As for the car, a Porsche Panamera whose price for the first model flirts with €100,000, it was found partly burnt in the western suburbs of Toulouse at the start of the evening.
The Toulouse public prosecutor’s office designated the investigation to the territorial direction of the judicial police. The police officers of the banditry repression brigade began to work, heard the victim and looked for elements to identify the three false police officers. The use of CCTV images may help investigators.
The victim, a magnetizer with an honorable reputation, practices in several places. Has he been monitored? It is probable even if he would not have noticed anything particular these last days. On the side of the judicial police, no comment at the start of an investigation which could be long.
