The escapee from La Talaudière arrested at Lyon Part-Dieu station after more than a month on the run
A run of more than a month ended this Wednesday, March 9 at the Lyon Part-Dieu station. A 22-year-old fugitive, wanted since his escape from La Talaudière remand center on February 5, has been arrested. The Judicial Police of Saint-Étienne and the BRI of Lyon arrested him as he was about to board a train for the Paris region.
This time the police were more athletic than him.
His escape had marked the spirits. The young man, multiple recidivist, had taken advantage of a walk in the prison courtyard to climb a fence then the wall of the walkway using a rope made from sheets. At the sight of the police who had come to arrest him, he tried to flee, “but this time the police were more athletic than him” we explain to the PJ.
Round trips between Paris, Lyon and Ondaine
It is a long work of investigation, surveillance and spinning, which made it possible to find the trace of the fugitive. First identified in Lyon for a few days, he was also identified in the Paris region and in Ondaine. He was about to leave again for Paris when he was arrested. He was unarmed at the time of his arrest. No accomplices have been arrested at this stage.
Placed in judicial detention, he must be presented to an investigating judge for his escape in the afternoon or at the latest Thursday morning, before going before the judge of freedoms and detention. He should go back behind bars.
