Phyron announces Volvo Car Sweden as its first car brand customer for automated e-commerce videos for AI software

Sugar Mizzy March 9, 2022

Phyron, Swedish pioneers in video technology, today announced Volvo Car Sweden as their first major customer of the car brand, with their Volvo Select’s used car division registering to launch its AI-powered automated videos over 30 of their Swedish digital courtyards.

The breakthrough deal will mean that Volvo Selekt uses Phyron’s automated videos with built-in artificial intelligence, for the sale of used cars in a nationwide pilot that will make it possible to convert over 1,500 used car ads into high-quality, branded videos in just minutes.

Phyron’s innovative video and AI solution is the world’s first software solution for automated video production and distribution for the global automotive industry. Phyron has been working with car dealers and partners since 2019 and now has over 1,000 customers across Europe. In 2022, customers’ car films were seen more than 226 billion times.

The unique AI software and its algorithms enable Phyron to create videos for car ads that can be used on OEM branded or reseller websites, as well as class ads and over social media channels. Its automated videos not only save dealers huge amounts of time and money on video production, especially as there is no need for a salesperson to film any cars on site or prepare a script with key features, they ensure top quality movies for every single car in a corporate stock has an engaging video ad attached to it in minutes.

The innovative process works by Phyron taking a data flow from a dealer or car brand, including at least three still images and important product details. The artificial intelligence (AI) then identifies the key features of the images, including different shooting angles, interior elements and exterior highlights, and then removes the backgrounds and replaces them with a neutral. The unique software then adds special effects, shadows and overlays the desired product specifications and any customer offerings on relevant images, including price and reseller brand.

Thanks to state-of-the-art cloud computing, Phyron can process an unlimited amount of videos at once, it takes about 10 minutes to render them all, publish them live on a single retailer or auction site’s website, or scale them across an entire network if needed. If a detail changes, such as price or promotion, the data flow is updated and the video is automatically rendered back as part of the small video fee.

Phyron CEO Johan Sundstrand, “Both Phyron and Volvo Car share the same vision. Our software not only ensures that each individual vehicle in their books reflects their premium status and customer-centric approach, but if any of the vehicle information changes in the data flow, videos will be updated and rendered automatically, ensuring each single used Volvo ad contains the correct advertising information in the most engaging videos ever. “

Johan Carlsson head of used cars at Volvo Car Sweden, said “Thanks to Phyron, this is the first time here at Volvo that we have been able to fully support our entire network of used car dealers with sophisticated support for digital video ad content. Every single used car in the Volvo Selekt program will have a consistent premium quality, custom branded film We are happy to work with the Phyron team and can not wait to see the increase in sales figures and audience engagement from such an innovative platform. ”

Phyron Sales Director Per Laredius said, “We are pleased to have been selected by Volvo Cars to use our AI-powered automated videos on their used car ads and change the way they sell their high-quality used cars.”
