An excerpt from the text was relayed by our colleagues from the Dispatch from the South:
In an international context of unprecedented tensions since 1945, when war broke out in Europe, the unity of the French nation is more necessary than ever. In a metropolis, which has been reinforced since 2017 with constant and determined support from the State, both before and during the health crisis, we are measuring the impact of these decisions, including the France Relance plan, in our major projects and in the daily files of our communes. In the next five years, our country will face immense challenges and strengthen its place in Europe and in the world. Our metropolitan territory must live up to these decisive deadlines. We are dozens of elected officials from Toulouse Métropole who are aware of these issues and of the need to accelerate the transitions underway. […] Coming from various political families, we share the same sense of dialogue, the same desire for emancipation, with this spirit of progress which leads to continuing reforms”, they write.
The first signatories represent various political movements of the majority (La République en Marche, Horizons, etc.). Among them, Vincent Terrail-Noves (mayor of Balma), Robert Medina (mayor of Mondouzil), Dominique Faure (mayor of Saint-Orens), Jean-Francois Portarrieu (to delegate), Christian Andre (mayor of Aigrefeuille), Philippe Plantade (mayor of Bruguières), François Chollet, Jean-Jacques Bolzan, Jonnhy Dunal, Agnès Plagneux-Bertrand, Jean-Claude Dardelet, Gaëtan Cognard, Françoise Ampoulange, Patricia Bez, Fella Allal, and Valérie Jacquet-Violeau.
