Why you shouldn’t miss the Monaco and the Mediterranean International Meetings
The XIsth The Monaco and the Mediterranean International Meetings (RIMM) will be held on March 10 and 11, 2022 at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. Here are 3 good reasons to go there.
1. Because the RIMMs bring together personalities and specialists from the Mediterranean
their creation in 2001, the Monaco and the Mediterranean International Meetings, placed under the high patronage of Prince Albert II, bring together, every two years, high personalities from the intellectual and scientific world, specialists in the Mediterranean.
The opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise on the cultural and natural heritage of this very special region. Hubert Védrine, former minister, François Queyrel, director of studies in Greek Archeology at the École Pratique des Hautes Études, Jean-Bernard de Vaivre, art historian and medievalist, Laurent Stefanini, French ambassador to the Principality and Laurent Derobert, doctor of philosophy and researcher in mathematics will be present.
2. Because this eleventh edition is dedicated to the Mediterranean Islands
Green or arid islands, tiny or vast, flat or mountainous, prosperous or unfortunate, nearly 15,000 islands have formed between the shores of the Mediterranean, the consequences of geological shocks that have followed one another in history. Among this multitude of islands, three areas will be closely examined: the islands of the eastern basin of the Mediterranean, those of the Tyrrhenian Sea and those further east.

3. Because the program is rich and spans two days
Between conferences, symposiums, round tables or even film screenings, the two days of the RIMM are coming up. On Thursday March 10, from 10 am and throughout the day, the conferences will follow one another, in the presence of Prince Albert II, who will also present the RIMM prize. The inaugural conference will focus on the geopolitical role of the Mediterranean islands, while in the afternoon the Greek islands of Paros, Samothrace, Milo and Cos will be honored.
On Friday, Corsica, Sicily and Greece will be honored through history and literature. At the end of the day (8 p.m.), the Variety Theater will screen the film Respiro by Emanuele Crialese. Please note that entries are free but registration is required at the following address: [email protected]
