On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, the Italian Embassy in Athens and the organization UrbanAct jointly work to honor the great Italian poet: a public mural dedicated to the Divine Comedy in the center of Athens.
The work was created by three important artists, Alberto Ruce, Kez and Same84, under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens and with the participation of OSY SA. The mural presents Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, ie the three sections of Dante’s work.
The two Greek artists Kez and Same84 and the Italian artist Alberto Ruce realized the work through their special styles, on a surface – courtesy of OSY SA, which supported the infrastructure of the work.
The mural is located on the fence wall of the station on Liosion Street (next to the station “Attiki”), an emblematic space where UrbanAct since 2005 has carried out numerous projects.
It is worth mentioning that the work had also been vandalized in the “Hell” section created by the artist Kez. As he states: “After the vandalism of my work, he proceeded to a new approach to the subject of Hell and the present is the result of my cooperation with the Embassy of Italy, which chose it, and supported it again.”
