PKF – Prague Philharmonia and KD Ládví organized a benefit concert in support of Ukraine in cooperation with the city district of Prague 8 yesterday in KD Ládví. On voluntary entry, we managed to collect 40,257 crowns, which were sent to the account of the Embassy of Ukraine in Prague.
Description: Prague 8
“We are now in a situation we have not known for over fifty years. A criminal Putin regime equipped with a nuclear arsenal has attacked its peaceful Ukrainian neighbor, who is bravely defending himself. If we cannot take up arms ourselves and go help, it is our duty to help proud Ukraine differently. And each according to their abilities. It is also our duty because of our historical experience, when our homeland was twice occupied, “said the mayor of Prague 8, Ondřej Gros (ODS).
“Personally, it is a really awful idea for me that some of my former last or rivals in football today are putting their lives on the freedom of their nation. I suffer all the more how important it is to help, whether through a financial contribution, a concert or by taking care of the people who come to us from Ukraine today. I am not happy about this, but it must be made clear that today’s Putin’s Russia has once again become the proverbial realm of evil, as the Soviet Union named US President Reagan in March 1983. Proud Ukraine, we are with you! ”The mayor added.
Conductor Leoš Svárovský and concert master Romana Špačková offered the audience Josef Suk: Meditation on the chorale “Saint Wenceslas”, Op. 35a, and Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92.
