Hanover (dpa / lni) – In Lower Saxony, 27 other people died in connection with the corona pandemic by Friday. According to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the total number of Covid 19 deaths increased to 7546. The seven-day incidence also rose to 1148.6 – after 1111.7 the previous day. The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants became infected with the Covid 19 pathogen within a week. 28,890 confirmed new infections were counted. Since the beginning of the pandemic around two years ago, the Robert Koch Institute has counted 1,116,990 corona infections in the state.

According to the Lower Saxony State Health Office, the figures from the Robert Koch Institute include numerous Sars-CoV-2 reports from the Göttingen district – to be precise, it is about 9954. Around 9500 of these cases are follow-up transmissions due to workload previously could not have been transmitted. This has little effect on the seven-day incidence, especially since these were mostly cases with a longer reporting date, said a spokesman. There may also be subsequent transmission of reports from other districts and urban districts.

The hospitalization incidence in Lower Saxony was 10.5 on Friday – after 10.4 a.m. the day before and 10.3 a week ago. The value expresses the number of new patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 people within a week. There may also be people with a positive corona test who have other diseases. The utilization of the intensive care units with Covid 19 patients was 5.7 percent, as on the previous day.

The county of Bentheim had the highest incidence with 2119.1, followed by the city of Wolfsburg (1813.6) and the district of Emsland (1539.5). The district of Wesermarsch had the lowest value with 610.0.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, the seven-day incidence in Bremen was 650.8 on Friday – the previous day this value was 703.1. 610 new infections and three more deaths were registered.
