Innsbruck Airport: 100,000 guests counted in the “Tyrol Business Lounge”.
Opened in December 2017, the “Tyrol Business Lounge” at Innsbruck Airport is a gilded oasis of calm with a fantastic panoramic view. Last Saturday, February 26, 2022, the 100,000th guest was welcomed there.
After two difficult years, which lie behind the entire travel industry, people at the airport are all the more pleased about the increasing number of guests and the 100,000 mark that has now been exceeded.
The 100,000th guest, 11-year-old Alexandra, visited the Tyrol Business Lounge with her family before her departure to Stockholm (with the airline SAS) to round off her winter vacation in Tyrol perfectly. Patrick Dierich, Deputy Airport Director, and Dominik Abolis, Head of Passenger Services, did not miss the personal greeting.
“This is pure relaxation before a flight. Enjoying the Tyrolean mountain scenery in this beautiful location before you go home extends the holiday feeling. We’ll definitely be back,” enthused Alexandra’s family.
The desire to create a frequent flyer lounge at the airport has been around for a long time. In 2017, this wish could finally be implemented together with the interior designer Nina Mair from Tyrol, who has received numerous awards. The more than 250m² large lounge impresses with its high-quality design, stylish ambience and the central theme of alpine-urban connection, which is reflected in the breathtaking panoramic view and the high-contrast materials used.
The success proves the concept right. The guests – whether they are expecting visitors or regulars – are enthusiastic about the ambience and the service offered. “Take a deep breath and relax” could well be described as the motto of the Tyrol Business Lounge.
The deputy airport director Patrick Dierich is still enthusiastic more than four years after the opening: “We are still proud and happy about the implementation of the Tyrol Lounge at our airport. With this project, Nina Mair has succeeded in creating an interior design gem that can rightly be described as unique. I don’t know of any comparable frequent flyer lounge.”
