Volley Superlega, Consar for pride against Verona

Sugar Mizzy February 26, 2022

Four more attempts for Consar RCM to close the championship with at least one victory and perhaps the last concrete hopes of success the Ravenna-based players can have today against a very motivated Verona who cannot afford missteps but who has some flaws.

Three points are a must for Stoytchev’s team which would make a decisive step forward but which in the first leg risked something with the Romagna players and therefore cannot afford distractions. Climbing to 24 with three races still to be played with Civitanova, Piacenza and Monza would mean creating a small buffer in view of a not easy season finale. On the other hand there is a Consar Rcm who can play without particular worries and will try again.

«None of us want to finish without at least one victory. In the four matches we are missing, each of us will be all he has to achieve this goal – affirms the Ravenna coach Emanuele Zanini -. We will go in search of the best performance in the name of continuity. We play well but only in flashes, sometimes only with some fundamentals. To win matches in the Super League you need continuity in all the fundamentals in the two phases and we have to put them together, in a single day, in a single match ».

Verona penultimate and Ravenna last, come to the first leg when the Venetians managed to win 3-1. «The classification in Verona is not true, it does not reflect the value of the players – admits Zanini – and the few points in which there are five teams show that the difference between them is minimal. But in my opinion, the Verona roster is for the play-offs and for us it will be a difficult task. They will be able to count on a gem like Mozic that I had already seen with the Slovenian national team in test matches even if he played little because he had people like Urnaut and Cebulj in front of him, but he is a stratospheric talent and in Superlega there is no such young player who has shown what he has shown continuously. From our ability to limit it will pass many possibilities to bring something home ».

Always absent Peslac, Erati, operated during the week with a good result in the meniscus of the right knee, and Fusaro (for all three seasons over), confirmed the presence of Alessandro Bovolenta who trained all week with the first team. Zanini will rely on Biernat as director, opposite Klapwijk, the central Candeli and Comparoni, the bands Ljaftov and Vukasinovic and Goi libero. Verona will answer with some doubts: Spirito could be confirmed as the owner like last week with Modena as director, the opposite is Jensen, the central players are Cortesia and Aguenier, the Asparuhov and Mozic bands with Bonami free.

It is played at 6 pm at the Pala de Andrè, with direct Rai and VolleyballWorld.tv, as well as referees for Pozzato from Bolzano and Saltalippi from Perugia.
