Adele Tonnini: “Aass appears to many as a company in disarray”
(…) “I wanted to make the Chamber aware of the concerns about AASS – began Tonnini -. I get against citizenship about it. What was a source of pride for the country today appears to many as a company in disarray, it is not clear what it is doing and where it is being taken. I do not see the right collaborative climate for which AASS should work independently in the interest of citizens. On the contrary, I see a continuous discharge of responsibility between the parties. The results of the last three years have gone from profits of several million euros up to 2019, with a loss in 2020 of 500 thousand euros, covered only thanks to trading, to reach a loss of 10 million euros in the last year. Today, gas increases risk jeopardizing the company’s balance sheet for the years to come, and with the compromise that is expected it will only be compromised further. It seems that a multi-year purchase agreement is being discussed, despite the volatility of the markets and the Ukrainian-Russian situation which is difficult to forecast. As most we know nothing, experts tell us that within the year the market price of gas will necessarily have to exceed, but it is difficult to assess. If a price is fixed with the current trend, the Aass, it is quite obvious, will have to further increase the rates in the bill. A contract that binds us for years seems to me a risky action. I would like to understand how this choice came about and if it was shared by Congress because the majority did not talk about it. (…)“.
