24/02/2022 – Special Appeal of the Mayor of the City of Krakow, Jacek Majchrowski
Ladies and gentlemen,
information from Ukraine with great concern. What is happening beyond our eastern border is a huge tragedy for this country.
We are in German law with voivodes, the government and Ukrainian associations, because we need a souvenir that we have 100,000 in Krakow. Expect that some of them will want to be.
Together with the government, we select places where refugees could find shelter. With associations concerned with projects, steering about the forms that may be needed by the newcomers. I believe that help will be provided not only by state and local government institutions, but also by the inhabitants of Krakow, who have proven many times that they are not indifferent to human tragedies.
As part of solidarity with Ukraine, I wrote a few letters to my Ukrainian days ago – Mera Kielij and partners – Mera Witalij Klonowe and Mera Lvov, Andriy Sadowy.
Today, when the war has become a fact, I keep my clarification about solidarity and help.
Jacek Majchrowski
