Covid-19 in Portugal: 28 deaths and 9851 new cases. Admissions go down | Pandemic
Portugal recorded, this Friday, 28 more deaths associated with covid-19 and 9,851 cases of infection. According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) released this Saturday, the total number of victims thus rises to 2,866 and the total number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic is 3,251,302.
The situation report indicates that there are now 1378 patients in the covid-19 wards of hospitals, 123 fewer than in the previous update. In intensive care, there are a total of 101, three more than in the previous bulletin.
The number of cases. There are 12,161 fewer contacts under surveillance by the health authorities, out of a total of 426,472.
Most of the new cases were registered in Lisbon and Tagus Valley (3398 new infections or 34.4%) later in the center (2177 new cases or 22%) and not North (1881 new infections or 19%). In Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, nine of the 28 deaths were registered and in the North another nine. The Center were accounted for three deaths; no Alentejo, there are 624 new infections and one death; no Algarve, 643 new cases and four deaths were recorded. N/A wood434 new cases were recorded and in the Azores 694 new infections and two deaths.
Data from the DGS report indicate that, of the total number of deaths recorded, 11,048 are men and 9,953 are women. Of the 21,001 people who died with covid-19 in Portugal to date, 13,610 were over 80 years old, which corresponds to 64.8%. Of the 28 deaths recorded on Friday, 28 were in the age group over 80, seven in the 70-79 age group and one between 60 and 69.
