• On theA43, you will encounter accordion-like traffic for about fifteen kilometers from the exit of Lyon and the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier toll. Disturbances are to be expected up to the junction with theA48. Traffic is then slowed down for about 20 km to reach Chambéry. To reach the stations, it is again complicated at the exit of Chambéry when you take the A43 with about twenty kilometers of accordion traffic.
• In Albertville, on the RN90there are people heading towards the resorts of the Tarentaise with 20 km of traffic jams up to Moutiers.
It will take you nearly 3 hours to reach Albertville from Lyon.
• You also meet a lot of people on theA48 then the A480 on the outskirts of Grenoble, 15 km from traffic jams.
In the sense of returns
• Patience is keyA43 with difficulties that begin at the junction between theA430 who arrive from Albertville and theA43 which arrives from the Maurienne valley 12 km from traffic jams towards Chambéry. Traffic is greatly slowed down in Chambéry on the urban expressway.
It gets stuck on the approach to Lyon, in the Isle-d’Abeau sector to reach the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier toll gate. Between Albertville and Lyon, count 3 hours of journey, twice as much as usual.
• You are slowed down on the RN85 towards Grenoble, then for 4 to 5 km as you pass this town on theA480.

In the direction of departures
Shortly before noon, theA43 don’t let up. The complications begin just after leaving Lyon and passing the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier toll. Traffic is concertina for 20 km up to the junction with theA48. Count 20 km of additional traffic jams if you continue on the A43 towards Chambéry. At the exit of Chambéry you are again faced with 20 km of slowdowns until the junction with theA41.
It will take you more than 3 hours to travel between Lyon and Albertville, compared to 1h20 in normal times. Add an extra hour of difficulty after Albertville if you then want to join the national 90.
In the sense of returns
• If you return to Lyon from Albertville and the Maurienne valley, the difficulties increase. You encounter 10 km of traffic jams from Albertville
Traffic is slowed down at the Chambéry crossing. Traffic jams are starting to form in Nord-Isère and in particular the Tour-du-Pin sector, and Bourgoin-Jallieu until the finish in Lyon. Allow between 2 and 2.5 hours for the Albertville-Lyon journey (1 hour longer than normal).
• On theA40, between Chamonix and Mâcon, you encounter traffic jams as you pass through Geneva for around ten kilometres. Traffic is again slowed down at Bellegarde-sur-Valserine in Ain, about fifteen kilometers.
10:40 a.m. | The A43 totally saturated towards the stations
After a rather calm morning on the roads, the first difficulties appear.
I’A43 is saturated over almost its entire length. The difficulties start as soon as you leave Lyon and in particular at the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier toll gate.
You encounter concertina traffic until you reach the junction with theA48, (Tour-du-Pin sector). In total, there are nearly 40 km of traffic jams between Lyon and Chambéry. To do Lyon-Albertville on the A43, you will take 1h30 more than in normal times, i.e. 2h55.
The traffic becomes denser towards the resorts of the Tarentaise valley. It is rather fluid in both directions of traffic in Beaufortain-Val d’Arly and Maurienne.
Complicated also in the direction of returns to Lyon
On the return side, it is above all the Albertville and Chambéry sector which is complicated with more than 6.5 km of traffic jams.
To reach Lyon from this sector via the A43, count 1h50, against 1h20 usually.
On theA6the arrival in Lyon is done without too many disturbances.
