Vietnamese frigate joins multilateral naval exercise MILAN 2022 in India | Politics
Visakhapatnam (VNA) – Vietnamese frigate 016 – Quang Trung and a delegation from the Vietnamese People’s Navy arrived in the Indian city of Visakhapatnam on February 24 to participate in the multilateral naval exercise MILAN 2022 at the invitation of the Indian Navy.
The welcoming ceremony took place solemnly on the quay. Colonel Nguyên Vân Ngân, head of the Vietnamese Navy delegation, was delighted to come to India on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, while affirming that the crew was ready to participate in this multilateral naval exercise.
The naval exercise, involving 42 nations, was due to take place off the coast of Visakhapatnam in southeastern India from February 25 to March 4. This year, the United States is participating for the first time.
This is the first time that Vietnam has sent a warship to participate in this exercise. naval multilateral considered to be the most important in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2018, the MILAN multilateral naval exercise brought together 17 countries and Vietnam sent a delegation of observers.
