Electric scooters are making a comeback In Toulouse ! A few weeks after leaving Indigo Weel two companies have won the call for expressions of interest concerning the two-wheeler rental service in the Pink City.
In a few weeks, they will offer their scooters for rental and self-service, we informed Friday, February 25, 2022.
600 scooters in town
“In June 2021, a call for expressions of interest (AMI) was launched, after several requests from operators. It has set a precise framework for intervention, in particular with respect to parking rules. The two operators finally selected are Yego and Felyx. Each will be able to operate 300 scooters and will pay an annual fee of 50 euros per vehicle, allowing it to park them on the road,” the town hall said on Friday.
Commissioning is scheduled for the spring, “by May” as the operator Yego has also announced, which is therefore arriving in Toulouse, after settling in Bordeaux and Paris.
Indigo Weel touched by flames
This news comes a few weeks after the terrible fire that ravaged the premises of Indigo Weel, in Colomiers. The operational base of the company which rented self-service bicycles and scooters in Toulouse had been destroyed by the flames, in mid-December 2021.
A month later, it was the end clap for Indigo Weel, who then announced that they were unable to resume their activities. The company had installed at the end of 2018.
