The inhabitants must part with their cellar… A difficult situation for some inhabitants
A major project for Toulouse
The city intends to carry out its project by installing a third metro line nearly 30 km long.
A new line means many changes
It was impossible for the future metro line of the city of Toulouse not to pass through any home. This third route will be 27 km long, a significant size that will affect the lives of the inhabitants of the city.. On this path of almost 30 km, fireplaces will block the road, cellars will block the future installation and must be sold to the city.
We know little about it, but we still own the depths of our house, just like the column of air above
Little profit for the inhabitants
The majority of citizens affected by this installation have already received a buyout offer and have been bought to see the amount offered by the city. Indeed, the most common cellars are not worth much. Coins located almost 20m underground are not going to bring in the people who most hope to receive large sums.
Some people started dreaming
Experts have proven that basements are worth no more than 80 euros, a meager sum compared to the usefulness of the cellars. The inhabitants lose a very practical storage space.
A global agreement
The city ensures the safety of its inhabitants, while establishing a large-scale plan.
A special offer
It is not really possible to decline the offer that the city makes to the various households of the pink city. The metro is a public utility projectcitizens are therefore obliged to participate in this project and the sale of basements is essential.
Only a few rare files posed a problem
The inhabitants are still wondering if they will be safe despite the passage of a means of transport under their homes. They were reassured that a full test will be carried out before work begins.
A clear and ambitious plan
Contrary to that of Rennes, the basement of Toulouse is rather stable. Moreover, we already have two lines and if we felt the slightest vibration as the metro passed by, it would be known.
Preliminary analyzes will be made to ensure that no building collapses or risks deteriorating. The priority undoubtedly remains the safety of the citizens of Toulouse.
The total project will cost around 3 billion euros. In addition, all the cellars will not be destined to become a subway passage, but places to start construction sites. The realization should pose some problems for the inhabitants, between constant noise pollution and the vibrations of the works. Patience is required, this third line will not be put into service before the end of 2028.
