San Marino. Criminal trial: the debate in the Great and General Council continues
In the morning in the Great and General Council the debate on PDL “Provisions to implement the guarantees and efficiency of the criminal trial”, presented by the Secretary of State with responsibility for Justice, Massimo Andrea Ugolini.
During the days of discussion on the provision, it emerged that the Chamber agreed on the need to proceed with an update of the matter. But there was no lack of distinctions of the opposition, in particular with respect to the introduction of the third degree of judgment which would increase – according to the directors of Libera and Rf-, the risk linked to the prescription of a crime. In addition, both the directors of Libera and Rf indicate as suspicious the coincidence between the introduction of the third degree of judgment and the carrying out during the course of the work of important proceedings, such as that relating to the “Mazzini Account”. Even among the ranks of the majority – Bronzetti of the mixed group and Santi di Rete – there is no lack of those who pay attention to the possible effects of the provision on the prescription.
