Citizens of the Russian Federation will no longer be able to enter Lithuania for personal health care services
In solidarity with Ukraine and its people, which are experiencing military aggression from the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health is suspending the issuance of permits to enter Lithuania to the citizens of the Russian Federation on an exceptional basis.
This means that foreigners from a hostile state will no longer be able to come to Lithuania for personal health care services (diagnostic examination, inpatient or surgical treatment), as well as for receiving medical rehabilitation services. Permits will not be issued even in cases when the reason for leaving is to care for close relatives living in Lithuania.
We remind you that the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in 2020 February 26 by resolution no. 152 “On Declaring a State Emergency” restricts the crossing of the state border by prohibiting foreigners from entering Lithuania, except for the exceptions specified in the Resolution. Sub-paragraph 2.3.11 of the Resolution states that the ban on aliens entering our country does not apply “in other exceptional cases when aliens are allowed to enter a separate permit of the Minister of the relevant field of management of the Republic of Lithuania”.
