Café de Paris, Monacollecte and exhibitions… What to do in Monaco this weekend?
The editorial recommendations to keep busy during the last weekend of February.
Taste a crepe suzette at the Café de Paris
Enjoy a last moment at the Café de Paris, in its current configuration, before it closes on Monday evening. The sumptuous establishment is about to get a makeover and the premises will be temporarily moved to the Salle Empire of the Hôtel de Paris from March 10, until the end of the renovation work, scheduled for 2023.
Donate or recycle with Monacollecte
Make room in your cupboards and preserve the environment by joining the Monacollecte, this Saturday, February 26, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Port Hercule esplanade welcomes you to drop off your bulky waste. Donations of clothing, toys, books and other objects in good condition are also welcome, since several charities, such as the SPA or the Red Cross, will be present on site to collect and redistribute them.
Support Monegasque athletes
Come and encourage the athletes of the Principality this Sunday, at 1 p.m. at the Louis-II Stadium! AS Monaco will host Stade de Reims there on the 26th day of Ligue 1. The opportunity, perhaps, to gain a few points in the standings, where the reds and whites currently occupy sixth place, but not only! Two distinguished guests will be present and honoured: bobsledders Rudy Rinaldi and Boris Vain, 6th at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Enrich your artistic culture
If you are into “art”, take advantage of your weekend to discover or rediscover the current exhibitions in Monaco! The New National Museum of Monaco is currently hosting “Monaco-Alexandria, the great detour – World cities and cosmopolitan surrealism”, in the Villa Sauber, and “Tremors – Recent acquisitions of the New National Museum of Monaco” at the Villa Paloma.
Do not hesitate to also take advantage, one last time, of the “Polar Planet” exhibition: the 40 photos of the polar regions, by the photographer Filip Kulisev, will be removed from the gates of the Saint Martin Gardens from Monday evening.
- NMNM exhibitions: daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., free entry on Sundays
- “Polar Planet” exhibition: free admission
Discover training in the arts
The famous Pavillon Bosio is organizing an Open Day this Saturday, February 26. On site or online, discover the many training courses offered by the prestigious Monegasque establishment, which has awarded diplomas in the plastic arts and scenography. It is also an opportunity to meet and discuss with students and professors, and to obtain useful advice for entrance examinations and commissions.
