After a successful first leg: Uri meets Geneva a second time
On Saturday, RHC Uri goes into the game as an outsider against second-placed Geneva. Despite this, player-coach David Esteves is confident.
On Carnival Saturday, February 26th, RHC Uri meets RHC Geneva away. Kick-off is at 5:30 p.m. During the long journey, one or the other player should think back to the first leg with good feelings: In an extremely exciting game, Uri ran after you for almost the entire season, possibly just before the end and finally got the extra point in extra time. It was her best performance of the season so far.
A lot of time has passed since then and the RHC Uri has lost its way. In 2022, it has so far been without exception defeats. The course of the season for the Calvinstadt team took a completely different turn. Since the game mentioned, Geneva has had four wins in a row. Most recently, Uttigen had to bite the bullet with a score of 2:5. Now greet the people of Geneva from second place. They are one point behind RHC Diessbach.
“We’ll definitely try everything”
In the meantime, the prospective opponent seems to have found a good mix of younger and older players. The former professionals Florian Brentini and Jerome Desponds alone vouch for a high level. In addition, old master Sebastian Silva is the safest support in the league. The Calvinstadt team have only conceded 27 goals – best in the league. Needless to say, the Urners rise as a blatant outsider in this game. Uri player coach David Esteves won’t let this drive him crazy: “We know exactly which teams we have to score against and against which we can score. Geneva certainly belongs to the second category. But if we’re going there for four hours, we’ll certainly try everything.” André Schuler will not be able to play for Uri due to an adductor injury. (mah)
