FLORENCE

the market exhibition of rare and unusual plants is back

Sugar Mizzy February 24, 2022

The Flower Show is back in Florence with its fourth edition, on 9 and 10 April 2022. The market exhibition is dedicated to the best producers and collectors of rare and unusual plants from all over the country. Once again, the event will be framed by one of the most beautiful locations in the historic center of Florence: the enchanting Giardino Corsini at the foot of the historic villa of the same name.

About 80 exhibitors will color and give life to this naturalistic spectacle by presenting the rarest and most unusual varieties of plants from all over the world, and the most particular handcrafted products close to the “green” theme. Also this year with the active participation and collaboration of all local institutions including the Municipality of Florence, the Tuscany Region and numerous Florentine associations and realities.

The naturalistic path that visitors will be able to find will in fact pass through all the most particular, unobtainable and quality botanical varieties: you will be able to walk immersed in an exhibition of imposing collectible bonsai, very particular species of succulent plants, the one most singular of the other. The spectacularity of the continuation will then be inside a real citrus museum, with some of the rarest and most ancient specimens and a wealth of scents and colors that will certainly not go unnoticed. There will obviously be fruit trees, a vast collection of ornamental grasses, perennials, but also Japanese maples. There will be poetic aquatic plants, the very particular carnivorous plants, the very rare and untraceable tillandsias, a vast collection of ancient and modern roses, and extravagant kokedama. The public will also be involved in a path that is always intertwined with the botanical one: many exhibitors who will bring culinary first fruits such as the many types of dried fruit, spices, honey and sour cherry wine.

There are also numerous niche artisans from all over Italy, each with its own particularity: from bamboo scarves, from raku ceramics to floral jewels, from garden lamps to wicker products. Like every edition, a food and wine corner will be set up in the public, where it will be possible to stop and enjoy delicious culinary first fruits throughout the day. And there will be no lack of tasty floral drinks.

There will be many free activities that will take place for all two days: the experts in the sector will focus on quality gardening and consequently all their knowledge in the horticultural field. An opportunity both for the most experienced and passionate in the sector, and for newbies who have not yet developed a green thumb.

Even for the little ones there is something for all tastes: from gardening activities to appointments on the world of animals. Any collateral activity that takes place within the event is free and open to all, upon online registration at the official website www.firenzeflowershow.com. An edition not to be missed to admire wonders and deepen your knowledge of gardening, but also simply to experience a “total green” weekend in complete relaxation in one of the most fascinating locations in the city of Florence.
