Air Canada reconnects Zurich with Vancouver
From mid-June, Air Canada would like to fly between Vancouver and Zurich four times a week.
International aviation is recovering bit by bit. This is primarily due to the relaxed entry conditions and how the virus is dealt with. Due to the growing desire to travel and the increasing number of bookings, airlines are able to reactivate more and more flight routes. So does Air Canada, which will soon be flying again from Vancouver to Zurich Airport, how abouttravel.ch reported.
Air Canada expands presence in Europe
On June 17th, Air Canada will resume flights between Vancouver and Zurich after what feels like an eternity. From now on, Air Canada would like to connect Zurich Airport with Vancouver four times a week with a Boeing 787-9. Air Canada flies from Zurich to Vancouver on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The Dreamliner covers a distance of more than 8,300 kilometers with a flight time of ten and a half hours. The flight times are as follows:
- AC882 | Vancouver – Zurich | Departure: 13:00 Arrival: 07:55 the following day
- AC883 | Zurich – Vancouver | Departure: 10:05 am Arrival: 11:30 am
But not only the route between Vancouver and Zurich will be resumed. Already with the start of the summer schedule, also on March 27, the airline will resume flights between Toronto and Amsterdam, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Tel Aviv and Tokyo. In addition, Air Canada will begin flights between Montreal and Algiers, Casablanca, Nice, Rome, Tel Aviv and Tokyo in the coming months. The Canadian airline would also like to fly to Dublin and Frankfurt airports again from Vancouver. In addition, Air Canada would also like to fly from Vancouver to Barcelona, Madrid or Milan, to name just a few destinations.
The resumption of international routes is directly related to the expansion in the North American market. The airline would like to add new routes and offer previously discontinued routes again. Not surprisingly, Air Canada schedules flights to allow these European travelers a seamless transition to the airline’s North American route network.
Conclusion on the resumption of the route between Vancouver and Zurich
It’s a good sign that Air Canada is resuming more and more routes in the coming months that it had to suspend due to the pandemic. The resumption of the route between Vancouver and Zurich is particularly pleasing. This is followed by another Swiss route, after the airline is already active on routes such as Geneva – Montreal or Zurich – Toronto.
