55 stolen ancient objects return to Greece from New York
Stolen ancient Greek findings great value return after years in Greece. These are the 55 antiquities in total, which were handed over by the Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg to the Greek Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni during a special ceremony held in New York.
These items were among the 179 stolen antiquities from Greece, Italy, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and other regions, worth a total of $ 70 millionconfiscated from the personal collection of 81-year-old American billionaire Michael Steinhard where they ended up through circuits antiquity. He himself agreed to hand them over in order not to be prosecuted. The Greek antiquities that were handed over come from Central Greece, Crete, the Cyclades, Samos and Rhodes. One stands out among them archaic Kourosa white lekythos, a beaked vase, a Minoan shrine and a female statue are valued at tens of millions!
