Vaucluse schools: 20 open classes, 16 close at the start of the next school year.

Numbers have been falling since 2018. The Académie du Vaucluse published this Wednesday, February 23 a press release to specify the school map 2022. Sixteen kindergarten or elementary classes will close, including four in REP. Twenty new ones will open, including 7 in REP. A ULIS class will also open at the Vertes Rives A elementary school in Avignon.

While the COVID is still raging and putting teachers on hold, six replacement positions have been created. They will officiate in the district of Apt, Carpentras, Pertuis, Bollène, Cavaillon and Avignon 2.

Here are the classes that will close:

Althen les Paluds, André de Richaud kindergarten
Avignon, nursery school Sixte Isnard
Avignon, Louis Gros kindergarten (priority education)
Avignon, Massillargues kindergarten (priority education)
Bollene, Alexandre Blanc kindergarten
Bollène, Joliot Curie elementary school (priority education)
Caderousse, elementary school Jean Moulin
Carpentras, La Quintine elementary school (priority education)
La Tour d’Aigues, elementary school Lucie Aubrac
Loriol du Comtat, Les Pins elementary school
Maubec, Arthur Rimbaud Elementary School
Saint-Saturnin les Avignon, nursery school La Cardelina
Sorgues, nursery school La Pinède
Sorgues, Maillaude elementary school
