Findings from last autumn: The trend shows at UFC Hallein up. And how. The Salinenstadt may not only have the half-time lead in the Salzburg League cheer, no, they also created an optimal starting position for the expected second part of the season. The men of trainers Eidke Winterteller namely will start with a six-point cushion in the spring. It is perfectly legitimate that the Hallein high-flyers now have the possible promotion to the Salzburg regional league envisage.

The league’s goal factory rushed from victory to victory
For years, actually for decades, no club in Halle could be found in the top field of the Salzburg league. After the FC ran out of air and the hoped-for integration into the Union came about, the wind seemed to turn. At the premiere in autumn 2020, still cautiously in the acclimatization phase, the UFC Hallein really let it rip in the first part of the 2021/22 season. Nine “trebles” and three draws lifted the Salinenstadt to the throne – the only defeat was against league favorite Eugendorf (0:1). “Of course we are very satisfied with the current standings. Since there are no relegated players this season, we basically wanted to play very attacking football. The course came as a bit of a surprise, but we’re happy to take it with us,” says the successful Hallein coach. Eidke Winterteller. At 39, the Wintersteller crew also scored the most goals in the league. And that, although Christopher Mayr (had to end the autumn championship prematurely due to injury) and Boris Babic, Hallein’s best sniper, with their seven stalls lagged behind the league bombers like Brückler (14) and Waldmann (12). An indication that almost all parts of the team know where the hut is.
Hallein is aiming higher
“If we’re up there, the goal is of course that we at least get promoted,” Wintersteller flirts with the leap into the regional league. Of course, if possible, the people of Salinenstadt would like to grab the first of the two ascent tickets. “Of course we want to be sure that we’ll stay at the top. I think we have the team and we’ll give it our all,” Winterteller. Despite the series of successes, the Hallein trainer sees potential for improvement, especially in the tactical area: “We still have some catching up to do in pressing and so on.”
Spring opening on Bürmooser Kunstgrün
In the next few weeks, UFC Hallein will be testing against Tamsweg (Feb. 25), Strobl (March 4) and Koppl (March 11), before the spring season kick-off in the Salzburg league awaits on March 19. The Wintersteller men have to play fourth-placed Bürmoos away from home.
