The Monegasque youth win against Brentford B in a friendly
At the end of a friendly match organized this Wednesday morning at the Performance Center, against the reserve of the Brentford club (Premier League), a very young team from AS Monaco logically won (2-1), thanks to two goals from players from the Academy.
It was under a radiant sun that the players of Philippe Clément welcomed the B team from Brentford, current 14th in the Premier League, this Wednesday morning at La Turbie (11 a.m.), for a friendly training match. The opportunity for the Flemish technician to give playing time to many young people from the Academy. Supervised by Youssouf Fofana, captain of the Red and Whites at kick-off, Ruben Aguilar, Cesc Fàbregas, Aleksandr Golovin and Kevin Volland, the AS Monaco players won at the end of a disputed match (2-1 ).
A magnificent strike from Maghnes Akliouche
At kick-off, the central hinge Chrislain Matsima – Yllan Okou, 100% from the Monegasque training center, completed a starting lineup in which Maghnes Akliouche also appeared, aligned on the right wing. It is also from his side that the attacking midfielder trained at the Academy, who signed his first professional contract two weeks ago, opened the scoring with a beautiful shot curled under the English crossbar (1-0 , 35th). Very eye-catching, the British returned just before half-time (1-1, 43rd).

Six N2 players entered the game
Returning from the break, the Monegasque coach logically rotated his team. The opportunity for Félix Lemarechal, Soungoutou Magassa and Tiago Ribeiro, who have already appeared with the pros in Ligue 1 or the Coupe de France, to show their qualities. But also for Jordan Semedo, who came on at half-time, Louis Torres and Eric Ayiah, to play for the first time in a match with the first team. The N2 striker also distinguished himself by scoring the winning goal after a fine counter-attack initiated by Yllan Okou… on his first ball (2-1, 77th)!
Two spectators of choice
The success of AS Monaco could have been even greater if the crossbar then the right post of the English goalkeeper had not repelled the attempts of Youssouf Fofana (34th) and Aleksandr Golovin (38th). Under the eyes of Rudy Rinaldi and Boris Vain, who came sixth in the duet bobsleigh event at the Olympic Games of Beijing – the Principality’s best result at the Olympics -, the Monegasque youth showed some very good things. A good appetizer before the reception of Reims this weekend at the Stade Louis-II in the league.
