Revolution train: A new playground will be established in Prague, connecting computers with movement
According to Kolář, the physical activity of children and their physical fitness are significantly reduced even before the coidem epidemic. Children are more often obese, and obesity stems from a number of diseases. He sees in everyday practice that you often have psychological problems with obesity. According to him, exercise is a preventive increase in mental illness. “Re-attracting children to physical activity is very important for the health of the nation, we are starting to become a slightly unhealthy nation,” he said.
The wheelwright said he was not supporter of increasing compulsory physical education classes in schools. According to him, it is expensive, schools would have to hire more gymnasts. According to him, it is necessary to motivate the movement of children, who are now avoiding him and who will never be top athletes.
Motivation to move
“Our goal is not only to educate top athletes, we have clubs for that, but it is important to attract to the field and a certain coordination skills, to increase physical fitness even in children who have minimal physical support. That is why we designed a universal playground, which could be a part of both teaching and leisure activities, “said Kolář. According to him, the playground should motivate children who are less agile and not enough for others.
According to Tuma, the playground should include an interactive clubhouse where children will meet. Computer equipment will allow, for example, a teacher to upload a knowledge test to computers. The children will answer the questions and, based on the answer, will go through obstacles and climbing frames on the playground. The clubhouse can also serve community activities.
“Let’s not take children’s computers and their communication technology, but let’s go back to the computer playground through innovation,” Tuma said. children around the age of 15 leave hobby groups en masse. The project wants to attract such children, but it will also be suitable for younger people.
Sport and no drugs
The first playground should be established in Prague by the end of the year, the creators are now negotiating with the city districts about the location. It will be financed from sponsorship donations. According to Tuma, however, other similar playgrounds could be created in smaller cities as well. When asked how much its construction will cost, he said that the price has not been set yet. “We will try to build it so that every district town can afford it,” he added.
Tuma is also behind the project of a train focused on drug use called the Revolution train, which travels in Czech, Slovak and German cities. Children in six carriages recognize the risks associated with drug use.
