Index – Domestic – Protest teachers held a flashmob in Budapest
Day by day, more and more educators are choosing not to keep their lessons, and they want to protest against the government’s decree of 11 February, which almost completely eliminates the pressure of the strike. Today, a civil disobedience campaign was held in several institutions of the capital, including the Deák Ferenc High School, the II. Rákóczi Ferenc High School, Jedlik Ányos High School, Pasaréti Szabó Lőrinc High School and Kodály Zoltán Primary School of Music and Music, Primary School of Music.
a flashmob was held by teachers together with several grammar schools on Wednesday morning, the Democratic Union of Teachers (PDSZ) reported live.
In addition to the events in the capital, more and more movements are being organized in the countryside, with protests today at the Batthyány High School in Szigetszentmiklós, the Pál Vasvári High School in Székesfehérvár and the Katalin Dobó High School in Esztergom – just to name a few. Among other things, the pedagogues also work in primary schools, such as the Ádám Jenő Primary School and Primary School of Art in Szigetszentmiklós, the Móra Ferenc Répcelaki Primary School and the Dunaharaszti Kőrösi Csoma Primary School.
In a statement sent to our editorial office, he writes:
“With our stand, 36/2022 was published in the Hungarian Gazette on 11 February 2022. (II.11.) We protest against the Government Decree, which, referring to the epidemiological emergency, determines which educational activities a teacher is obliged to participate in in the event of a strike. It does so by rendering the strike unsuitable for advocacy, completely emptying this form of employee redress, thus depriving us of our fundamental rights. ”
The PDSZ, together with the Teachers’ Trade Union, applied to the Constitutional Court on Tuesday for the above decree, the details of which we wrote about earlier here.
