Adrien Fourmaux: “I am really happy to return to Sweden after two years”
After a major crash the first full day of 2022 FIA World Rally Championship in Monte-Carlo Rallythe M-Sport Ford World Rally Team, together with a helping hand from Adrien Fourmauxhas prepared a brand new Ford Puma Rally1 for the young Frenchman when the team aims Rally Sweden this weekend.
In recent weeks, Fourmaux has spent time at the team’s Dovenby headquarters in Cumbria, helping its engineers build the new car, from getting over the driveline from the crashed chassis to all the finest little details.
Along with that, Fourmaux has a better understanding of how the new hybrid driveline, suspension and parts work together, and will use that benefit of tuning the car for upcoming events.
Based on his limited experience on snow with only two excursions so far in a four-wheel drive car, the Frenchman aims for a solid performance in Sweden and he hopes to get his campaign 2022 back on track after his accident earlier: “I’m really happy to be back in Sweden after two years, and it looks like we will have good road conditions for this famous rally. The atmosphere is so special because this is the only event with 100 percent snow, so it’s always something I look forward to when I enjoy driving on snow. ”
“Of course I want a good result, but first and foremost I want to enjoy it and get some experience on this surface. It will be the first time for me on snow in a WRC car, so it will be a pretty big step, but I’m really looking forward to it. ”
